On Monday morning it seems to me to be standing in front of a white canvas: it is the beginning of the week and a part from some recurring or binding engagements, I am the mistress of my time: everything is possible. When on Sunday evening I quite naturally take inventory of the past week, I am satisfied when I see that I have done much, getting through boring matters that I would be inclined to procrastinate. A friend of mine a short while ago said: our days are not ‘dress rehearsals’, when they are over they are gone forever, and we will not have the possibility of reliving them in a better way.
Lately I noticed that every week I try something different, either a new technique or by improving what I already know. Internet is a mine of information and inspirations, but these wouldn’t be enough if I hadn’t in me the curiosity to try, the wish to experiment, and the humility to give myself a challenge.
For instance I would like to try printing photographs on fabric and then adding stitches, as my friend Ingrid described in her post. Maybe starting with this picture that summarises the essence of Carnival.
Yesterday I wasn’t able to locate some gloves (I own a full collection) and I finally decided that it was time to gather them all in one place. I only had a rather ugly old shoe box. A couple of fabric leftovers, some seams,
La settimana si preannuncia grigia e piovosa.
The week is going to be grey and rainy.
Printing photos onto fabric I would love to try that....must visit Ingrid's blog.
RispondiEliminaLove the fabric covered box, what a great way to turn something plain and boring into something unique and interesting.
The last photo is very special...grey and rainy sounds wonderful to me.
Hope you manage to get some blue sky and sunshine during the week,
Claire :}
Have a great week - only the weather will be grey and rainy, not you :-)
RispondiEliminathe weather might be gray and rainy but that image is magnificent. and i think your glove box is a great idea.
Buon carnevale.
RispondiEliminabut the river is no longer frozen! love your sun shiny optimism and the glove box is beautiful, you will appreciate it every time you need gloves.
RispondiEliminafoto stupende !
RispondiEliminaLove that last photo - such a beautiful reflection. Grey weather is good for reflections (and reflection)!
RispondiEliminaYou start with lovely Spring flowers and end with Autumn-ish colors. All in a short period of time, isn't that interesting? I like to see the result of your printing photographs on fabric with added stitches, will be a piece of art I think. Thanks for sharing the link. Hope you have a great week!
RispondiEliminaCool box transformation! I've been toying with the idea of putting photos on fabric too, although I may never get to it. And every time you put up a photo of Florence, I want to jump up and down and say "Oh, I was there! I saw that!" I always enjoy stopping by!

I love your description of Monday morning as a white canvas. So wonderful to feel that you are the mistress of your time: "everything is possible." I will have to work on that! Monday morning I usually feel that the slots are already penciled in...
RispondiEliminaBeautiful post Blandina! I love your thoughts about Monday. And I love how you said this: "Internet is a mine of information and inspirations, but these wouldn’t be enough if I hadn’t in me the curiosity to try, the wish to experiment, and the humility to give myself a challenge." That really resonated with me. Yes, taking in inspiration is great but it does take curiosity, experimenting and humility to actually let it affect your life.
RispondiEliminaI love how the box came out, it is beautiful! And that photo of the bridge is stunning!
madonna mia! che foto!
RispondiEliminaI know it is grey but your photo is still stunning and I long for the day that I get to travel abroad, one day. :)
