Reader e gli altri - ‘Reader and the others’

I do not know about you, but I follow the blogs I am interested in through Reader. Therefore I was thrown into the deepest abyss when I recently heard that from the 1st of July this service will not be available anymore.
I looked for an alternative that would work on my PC and on the iPad.

I liked the way Pulse looked and how easy it was to read. It is intuitive and doesn’t need great study. But when I use it with my iPad, I can not leave a comment on the blogs I visit. I wrote and they kindly wrote back 15 days later (I know that they have plenty to do) saying that they will improve this problem. But in the mean time I moved forward.

DSC04748Feedly è dove ho trasferito i miei Google feeds.

I imported my Google feeds in Feedly. I started using it: it is easy, clear, very simple. I am still exploring, for instance I couldn’t find yet how to block its automatic opening when I open Windows (is this correct computer slang?).
Not owning a smartphone, I couldn’t verify if it also works on the phone.

This is another computer annoyance: from time to time I received anonymous comments offering a wide range of things, but lately I am receiving an awful amount of them, even 15 a day. I delete, of course, but it would be nice to discover a way to block: has anyone a suggestion?

I finally got my camera back, I would have never thought that 2 weeks without would make me feel as if part of me was missing. The modest watercolors shown here are part of my work in India (I made some worst specimens!). They are gathered in a notebook/journal that I stitched before I left.

  1. On top of everything else, you are quite a watercolourist, I see. I like them! As to your question, I'm afraid I don't have any new suggestions. I've been blogging for such a short time I follow through Blogger. I've found it quite handy. Every time I enter Blogger I can at once see who has been posting about what since I last visited. So I often keep the Blogger page open all day.

  4. Hello Blandina,
Luckily you have your camera back and we can see more beautiful photos in the future.
Following websites I do by using my email software. The updates I receive not in my inbox between incoming mails but in separate folders. This system suits me perfectly.
The picture of your notebook/journal makes me very curious to more.

  6. Love the spontaneous watercolours...when they are in a stitched book will you stitch on them?
Darned computers! I've been working on computer problems all winter without much success. And still don't have a replacement for my broken camera...I'm still using it. I smashed it against a rock and it has no shutters left! I can still take photos but lots of light gets in!

  7. Ho cominciato di usare Bloglovin invece di Reader e mi piace molto. Anch'io ho ricevito tanti commenti spam recentemente.

    Buona pasqua!

  10. You never cease to amaze me Blandina. Now, a watercolorist! They're lovely and what a great idea to put them in a book! As for all that blogging stuff, I've heard I've got to do something. I just don't feel like it. ...nor understand it. I hope I've got some time.

  11. --the watercolours are a lovely memory of your trip. I keep my computer "stuff" as simple as possible - I'd rather be in the garden and all I have is a PC anything else is just more stress!

  12. I do not know what any of these technical words mean, no iphone, pad, etc...just me & my laptop. I hope it is all resolved for you! Very much enjoyed your views of India, especially your watercolors & the block printing information.

  17. As for the dreaded 'anonymous' comments.....I dropped that 'fuzzy number letter thingy' because one popular blogger was complaining about it and began to get all kinds of unwanted comments......then I had to add back the number thingy thing, which stopped all of the troubling stuff. I wish I could be more technical. Along with many of you, I am not very savvy when it comes to all of this. I also LOVE your watercolors....and the book that captures them.
